1st Africa Methodist Council Conference

Conference participants started arriving yesterday for the first Africa Methodist Council Conference being held at Nairobi, Kenya from 13 – 18/3/19. Members came in numbers from Kenya, Benin, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

Archbishop Kehinde Stephen, the interim Chairperson spoke about the long faith journey to witnessing this day. Rev Joseph Ntombura, MC Kenya Presiding Bishop gave the welcome address and Bishop Boafo – MC Ghana Presiding Bishop gave the key note address. Rev Ivan Abrahams represented the World Methodist Council at the Conference.

It was a joyous occasion with many youths and women also in attendance. A wonderful opportunity for networking and to discuss pan African issues important to Methodists with many heads of Methodist Churches in attendance. I shall present tomorrow IJN.
